William J. 'Will' Jarrett, 82, Iberia, died at his home, Saturday, May 2, 1981, less than a week before his birthday.
He was born May 8, 1899, at Iberia, to J. W. 'Polk' and Elizabeth Rothermel Jarrett. March 8, 1923 he was married at Iberia to Beulah Hicks, who died Dec. 6, 1970.
A retired farmer, Mr. Jarrett had been a self-employed salesman for Watkins Products since 1960. He was a member of the Iberia Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include a son; John Calvin Jarrett, Iberia; three daughters, Mrs. Georgia Dean Shreve, Iberia, Mrs. Bonnie Hendley, Malden, and Mrs. Patricia Leech, Davenport, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Emma Sloan, Rosebud, Illinois; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm Monday, May 4,1981 at the Iberia Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Kenneth Hendley officiating, assisted by the Rev. Robert Hamm. Burial was in the Jarrett Cemetery under the direction of the Stevenson-Mossman Funeral Home of Iberia.
