Mr. John Harmon Dies
The entire community was shocked and grieved when the message, "John Harmon is dead," was sent over the telephone by a friend who was first to reach him.
Mrs. Harmon was spending the day what a neighbor and had left a colored man and his wife with Mr. Harmon. At the noon hour while they were at their cabin only a short distance away they heard his cry for help and a sound as if a chair had fallen to the floor. Instead of going to Mr. Harmon's aid the colored people became frightened and ran to Mr. J L McKnight's to summon aid, but before Mr. McKnight reached him, Mr. Harmon had been dead several minutes.
The remains were interred in the Old Houlka cemetery Saturday.
We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family.
