LONGMEADOW - Jessie D. (Grant) Kaiser, 86 of 24 Tabor Crossing died Tuesday at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Chicopee, grew up in Springfield and had lived most of her life in Holyoke before moving to Longmeadow in 2005. Jessie was a graduate of Commerce High School and had attended Holyoke Community College. She was a homemaker and also worked in the family grocery business the former Pure Food Market in Holyoke for many years. She was a member of Congregation Rodphey Sholom Synagogue and their Sisterhood, Springfield Jewish Community Center and was a SeniorNet computer coach, long time volunteer and patient representative at Holyoke Hospital and was a life member of Hadassah. Jessie was an avid golfer, bridge player, reader and bowler. She leaves her husband of 65 years Harold Kaiser of Longmeadow, 3 children Kenneth (Joan) Kaiser of Becket, Karen (David) Klavan of Israel, Sarena (Donn) Brechenser of Greenfield, 2 brothers Gerald Grant of Northampton, Melvin Grant of Springfield, a sister Eunice Kofsky of Longmeadow, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday 2:00 PM at the Ascher-Zimmerman Funeral Home with burial in Sons of Israel Cemetery . Shiva will be at the Kaiser residence 24 Tabor Crossing, Longmeadow, Thursday and Sunday with evening services.
