Mulvane Woman Dies at Age of 60 Following Illness

Mrs. Katherine Petersen, 60, Mulvane, died at her home Wednesday following a 14-year illness. She was born in Mulvane March 21, 1900, the daughter of John and Augusta Lentz Zerener.

Mrs. Peterson spent her early life in Cheney where she attended school and was a member of Cheney Lutheran Church. She was married to Lou Petersen Dec. 23, 1923. They moved to the Mulvane - Derby community to make their home.

Mrs. Petersen then transferred her membership to Derby Presbyterian Church where she taught a Sunday School classs until her health failed.

Survivors include her husband; a. son, Eldon Lugene, Beaumont, Kan.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Lansdown, 3632 Meadow Lane and Mrs. Martha Brandes, Cheney; and five brothers, Chris, Carl, Albert and Wilbur Zerener, all of Cheney, and Emil Zerener, Conway Springs, Kan.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Mulvane Funeral Home.
