"Robert Bernard Wood, 84, husband of Mrs. Ruby Covert Wood, died Thursday at 4:30 a.m. in Roanoke after several months illness. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Berkley, and had spent most of his life in this area.
He was a member of Berkley Lodge No. ?67 A.F.&A.M., and a Spanish American War veteran. For many years he operated the Wood and Clark Machine Works in Berkley. After severing connections with that concern he traveled for the Baker Valve Co.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Emily Wood Penn and Mrs. Mary Wood Harrison, both of Baltimore; two sons, E. Russell Wood of Las Vegas, Nev., and Norman W. Wood of Baltimore; a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Wood Price of Portsmouth; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The body was taken to the Sturtevent Funeral Home"
