Jimmy L. Warman, of Dixon, was born on September 12, 1959, at Waynesville, a son of Wilbur C. and Barbara (Bays) Warman, and departed this life at 4:28 p.m., Wednesday afternoon, September 13, 2006, in Mercy St. John's Health Center, Springfield. Jimy had been ill with cancer since February 2004 and had attained the age of 47 years and one day.
Jimmy was united in marriage on March 17, 1979, at Dixon, to the former Miss Gay Lynn Crider and to this union two children were born. He was preceded in death by one brother; Gregory P. Warman on August 31, 2002; his paternal grandparents: George and Lattie Warman; his maternal grandparents; Clint and Opal Bays; and one sister-in-law; Debbie Nelson.
Jimmie was a member of the Dixon Church of Christ and loved doing service for God as a song leader, Deacon, youth leader, and his mission trip to Nicaragua. Jimmy spent 25 plus years as a fire fighter, first as a volunteer and then as his career. While serving as Chief of the Dixon Volunteer Firefighters, he implemented the Brinktown Satellite Fire Station. He was a member of the international Association of Firefighters; Dixon Ambulance Service, CPR trainer for Red Cross; and an auctioneer. Jimmy worked at Fort Leonard Wood as a firefighter, and had attained the rank of Captain of the Fire Fighter Rescue Squad.
Those left to mourn the passing of Jimmy include his wife; Gay Lynn Warman; one son; Nathan James Warman; one daughter and son-in-law; Jessica Lynn and Red Lane; one grandaughter; Isabella Lane all of the home in Dixon, his parents; Wilbur and Barbara Warman, Dixon, two brothers; Michael Warman and his wife, Anita, Dixon; Randy Warman, Kansas City; his mother-in-law; Brenda and Johnny Aaron; his father-in-law;; Harold Crider, state of Texas; brothers-in-law; Herb Nelson, Mike Aaron, John Aaron and his wife Sherry; sisters-in-law; April Dawson and her husband, Matt, all of Dixon and Fawn Crider, state of Texas; nephews, nieces, and many other relatives and friends.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, precious memories of Jimmy will long be remembered in the hearts of his dear family and all who knew and loved him. Funeral services for Jimmy were conducted at 4:00 p.m., Saturday afternoon, September 16, 2006, in the Dixon Church of Christ with Jim Morris officiating. The congregation sang "Alleluia", "I'll Fly Away", and "When We All Get To Heaven" for the funeral service.
Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Gilbert Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Jimmy Robert Odie, William Allis, Bryan West, Robert Plemmons, Dana Potter, Christian Miles, and Timothy Burrus, Layne McFarlin, Traven Plemmons, Tanner Plemmons, Trey Currin, Ron Look, Billy Warman, and Clinton Warman all served as honorary pallbearers.
