James Carl Glidewell, 74, a resident of Wichita, died Tuesday, July 16, 1991, at his home after a long illness.
He was born Nov. 13, 1916, at Hallowell, Kans., a son of Fred and Letha (McKee) Glidewell. He had been a tool planner for Beech Aircraft in Wichita for 48 years.
Survivors include his wife, Lawanda (Blevins) Glidewell, of the home; two sons, James Carl Glidewell Jr., of Garnett, and Glen E. Glidewell of Wichita; one daughter, Eileen Harris of Everett, Neb.; one brother, Loran Glidewell of Clearwater, Kans.; three sisters, Dulcie Parker of Fredonia, Thelma Snyder of Carl Junction, Mo., and Carmen Woffard of Hemet, Caif.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at the Hillside Christian Church in Wichita under the direction of the Downing-Lahey Mortuary.
A memorial in Mr. Glidewell's name has been established with the Hillside Christian Church's music department.
