Mrs. Knute Gladem, 911 E. Johnson St., who observed her 82nd birthday on Mar. 31 has four sets of five generations in her immediate family.
Born in Norway on Mar. 31, 1878, Mrs. Gladem came to the United States with her family when she was 3. They settled near Blanchardville. She was married to Mr. Gladem, who came from her home town in Norway and settled near Mt. Horeb, on Oct. 2, 1896. Mr. Gladem died in 1951.
The Gladems had 12 children, nine of whom are living; 52 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren

Funeral services for Mrs. Knute (Mary) Gladem, 83, of 911 E. Johnson St., who died Friday, will be held at 11 a. m. Monday at Bethel Lutheran Church, 312 Wisconsin Ave., with Dr. Morris Wee, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Hauge cemetery.
Surviving are four sons, Curtis, 911 E. Johnson St., Kenneth, 1915 E. Johnson; Alvin, 1317 Loftsgordon Ave; and Lawrence, Brooklyn; six daughters, Mrs. Norman Disrud, 844 Williamson St; Mrs. Melvin Severson, Black Earth; Mrs. Lyle Baker, Arena; Mrs. Harold Noyce, Oregon; Mrs. Melford Jordee, 114 E. Dayton; and Mrs. Grant Boley, Belleville, 111 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
