POWELLS POINT - Cornell Sawyer DZWONEK, 82, of the 8300 block of Caratoke Hwy., died Oct. 14, 2000, in the Albemarle Hospital. Mrs. DZWONEK was a native of Spot, N.C., and the daughter of the late Alveston and Sarah Letita Etheridge SAWYER and the wife of Joseph George DZWONEK of the residence. Besides her husband, Mrs. DZWONEK is survived by a son, Joseph Harrison DZWONEK of Powells Point; and a sister, Guertha Sawyer BLOUNT of Elizabeth City. A family graveside service will be at held at 2 p.m. Monday in Powells Point Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Eugene McLAWHORN officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Cemetery Fund, Powells Point Baptist Church, 8387 Caratoke Hwy., Powells Point, NC 27966. Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, is in charge.
