Enumerated in the 1820 census of Blenheim, Schoharie County, New York, next to the household of his parents with one male of age twenty six and under age forty five (b. 1776-94) and one female of age twenty six and under age forty five (b. 1776-94). They evidently removed to Ohio as son Jesse is related to have been born there in census enumerations. They removed to Pennsylvania and were enumerated in the 1830 census of Rutland township, Tioga County with two males under age five (b. 1826-30), one male of age five and under age ten (b. 1821-25), one male of age thirty and under age forty (b. 1791-1800), one female of age five and under age ten (b. 1821-25), and one female of age thirty and under age forty (b. 1791-1800). The proximity of their near neighbors on the census enumeration would indicate their residence was in northern Rutland township near the Jackson township line. Other family members would follow them to Pennsylvania, including his parents. They removed to neighboring Jackson township and were enumerated there in 1840 with two males under age five (b. 1836-40), one male of age five and under age ten (b. 1831-35), one male of age ten and under age fifteen (b. 1826-30), two males of age fifteen and under age twenty (b. 1821-25), one male of age forty and under age fifty (b. 1791-1800), one male of age eighty and under age ninety (b. 1751-60), one female of age ten and under age fifteen (b. 1826-30), and one female of age forty and under age fifty (b. 1791-1800). Their residence was at a junction of three roads and would become known as Job's Corners. The mother of James had died in 1837 and her memorial marker is in the Keyes Burying Ground, which later became known as the Jobs Corners Cemetery. The male over age eighty in the 1840 census enumeration is believed to be John Job, the father of James. He may also be buried in the Jobs Corners Cemetery, but there is no known memorial marker. The family removed from the area and were enumerated in Cuba, Allegany County, New York in 1850, James age 56, farmer, real estate of $1,300, born Ireland. Sarah was age 56, born New York. Enumerated in Portville, Cattaraugus County, New York in the 1855 state census, age 61, farmer, born Ireland, three years in town. Wife, Sarah, age 61, born Dutchess County, and children William, Margaret, George, and Charles in the household. Enumerated in Portville in 1860 and the 1865 state census. In the 1865 state census, Sarah was the mother of ten children, but only nine are recorded below. Enumerated in Portville in 1870, 1875 state census, and 1880.
