Mildred A. Collier, 91, Huntington, died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 15, 2007) at The Heritage of Huntington. Mrs. Collier had been the bookkeeper for her family's businesses, including the Andrews Elevator, Collier Feedmill, both Huntington Dairy Queens, and Valley View Estates in Huntington. She was a member of Central Christian Church and Psi Iota Xi sorority. She was born Aug. 11, 1916 in Decatur, a daughter of Russell and Vivian Dawson Acker. She married Melvin H. Collier in Kimmel on Dec. 30, 1939. Her husband died Jan. 31, 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Cyndy Pressler, Huntington; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Calling will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Tuesday at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home. Dr. Sam Young will officiate the service. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Central Christian Church Building Fund in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750.
