Donia Bachmeyer, 81, of Conroe, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, August 25, 2010 in Conroe, Texas.
Funeral Mass is set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 28, at St. Mary's Church in Plantersville. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation and rosary will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 27, at Metcalf Funeral Directors, Highway 105 at 1801 White Oak Terrace in Conroe.
Donia Bachmeyer was born near Plantersville, Texas to William and Elizabeth (Kowis) Wischnewsky on April 4, 1929. She was the last surviving child of eleven brothers and sisters. Donia was a member of the Catholic Daughters and attended Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Plantersville.
She was a devout Catholic wife and mother, completely devoted to her husband of 64 years, her children and their families. She will be deeply missed.
Donia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Alfred Bachmeyer, who passed away just five months before her.
Survivors include her sons, Dennis and wife, Dinah, Dan and wife, Janelle, Clyde and wife, Cheryl, Craig and wife, Debbie, and Clay John; her daughter, Betty Ann and husband, Ralph Laskoskie; Donia and Alfred also had 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jody Bachmeyer, Brian Bachmeyer, Westley Bachmeyer, Clint Laskoskie and Chris Bachmeyer.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Building Fund in Plantersville, Texas.
