Rodney Charles Ludwig, 50, of Keokuk, died Sunday, September 5, 1999, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. Born February 10, 1949, in LaGrange, he was a son of James and Bonnie Logan Ludwig. He married Dottie December 1, 1978, in Carthage, Illinois. She survives. Mr. Ludwig was a 1968 graduate of Palmyra High School, Palmyra. He was a member of the LaGrange Christian Church, LaGrange. He had been employed at Vermillion Brothers and Gem City Storage and Transfer in Keoku, Iowa until his retirment in 1997. He enjoyed car racing and drove drag-racing cars. Surviving also is one son Chad Ludwig of the home; one step-son Shane Stair of West Point, Iowa; one step-daughter Andrea Stair of Keokuk, Iowa; four brothers, Jim Ludwig of Keokuk, Iowa, Harold Ludwig of LaGrange, Lyle Lydwig of Canton, and Keith Ludwig of Quncy, Ill., and Connie Otto of Quincy, Ill.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Linda, in infancy, and one brother Dennis Ludwig. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, Iowa, with Kenneth Ballard officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. A memorial has been established for Chad Ludwig's Education Fund.
