Dan Luther Dies in Houlka
Dan Luther, Chickasaw resident of 25 years, died at his home in West Houlka at 7 am, Friday, April 8. He was 56.
Funeral services were held Sat., at 2 p.m., in the Houlka Funeral Home chapel with Reverends Henry Clark, Buford Easley and N Oscar Nabors officiating. Burial was at Old Houlka Rose Hill cemetery with Houlka Funeral Home in charge. He had lived in Chickasaw county for the past 25 years.
He leaves his wife, Ethel James Luther, two sons, James H., and George W Luther of Houlka; his mother, Mrs. Ella Belk Luther of Buckhorn; three brothers, Elmer and Hood of Randolph, Bill Luther of Houlka; three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Tindall of Houlka, Mrs. Mabree Hitchcock of Randolph and Mrs. Christine Craig of Crowder, Miss., and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Carlton and Pete Moore, Barney and Wendell Luther, Royce Tindall, John Burgess, Billy Craig and Gene Hitchcock.
