CLANTON, Ala. - Ethel James Luther, 97, formerly of Houlka, died Thursday, June 8, 2006, at her grandson's home in Clanton, Ala. She was born Jan. 18, 1909 in Mississippi to the late George James and Lucinda Kimbell James. She was the widow of Dan Luther, who died in 1966. She was a homemaker.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Houlka with the Rev. James Hilderbrand officiating. Houston Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include three grandsons, Ronald and Janice Luther, Donald and Janie Luther and Tony and Shirley Luther, all of Clanton, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sons, Welton Luther in 1968 and James Harrison Luther in 1979.
