Jonas died at the Old Soldier's Home in Grand Island, on the 27th day of September 1905, aged 72 years and 2 months.
The deceased was born in Karlstadt, Sweden, July 10, 1834, came to American in 1857 and located in Andover, Illinois. He served in the was of 1861 to 1864. He came to Nebraska in 1883 and has lived in this state ever since. He was a member of the Swedish Lutheran Church. Funeral services were held in the Swedish Lutheran Church on Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev Louis E Humphry of the Presbyterian Church, and the body was gently born by comrades of the G.A.R. and was laid to rest in the Edgar cemetery.

Jonas Peter Sackrison [sic] died at the Home hospital Wednesday evening, aged 71 years. He served in the war of the Rebellion for three years and nine months as private in Co. H. 40th Illinois Infantry and Co. B. 9th Ill., Regiment. Was admitted to the home from Edgar, Nebr., Nov. 7th, 1904. Mr. Sacrison was a native of Sweden. He will be taken to Edgar for interment.
