My name is Carol Ruth Sorden Watson.
This is my Great Great Grandmother Sarah Neel Sorden. Daughter of Jonathan Neel & Nancy Tucker. My cousin, Bill Sorden of Illinois & myself from Arizona, traveled to Coffeyville, Ks. & met for the first time & purchased a headstone for our great Great Grandma Sarah, & had it placed on her grave. I also traveled to Iowa to visit the gravesite of Sarah's father, Jonathan Neel, and traveled to West Virginia where Nancy & her parents were born. I am now trying to locate the grave of her mother, Nancy, who was a midwife. UPDATE. Johnnie & I traveled to Iowa, & found nancys burial place at Leon Cemetery in Decatur Co. Iowa. & ordered her headstone in 2016.

Sarah was married to James Sorden, Father of Harvey Sorden, father of William Sorden, father of Arch Sorden, father of carol ruth sorden watson.
They had a son Harvey Sorden born 1851.
I feel it is so important that our pioneer ancestors be remembered & recognized. I have been a Genealogist for some 35 years.

It is my goal to see that a headstone marker is bought & placed on all of our SORDEN grand, great, great great Grandparents ...etc..(as far back as I can find) gravesites.

Our Grandmother (WIFE OF WILLIAM SORDEN)Sarah Ellen"ELLA"Dickson SORDEN'S father is Robert Stewart Dickson a Veteran of the Civil War. He is buried in Oklahoma. I am now in the process of obtaining & placing a WELL DESERVED CIVIL WAR VETERANS HEADSTONE on his gravesite. DONE!! I ordered his beautiful upright marble white headstone from the Government & had it placed in Minneha Cemetery in McLoud, Oklahoma. We traveled back there again to see it.
