Mary E. Neal was born at Roundhead, Marion Co., Ohio, June 11th, 1845. She was united in marriage to Alonzo M. Moore, Sept. 15th, 1864 at Lytle City, Iowa. To this union was born six children, four of whom are living, two preceding her. Her husband died some two years ago. Since that time she has made her home with her children. Those living are: Mrs. A. J. Wing of Falls City, Neb., W. C. Moore of Ashley, Neb., A. M. and P. S. Moore of Hollenberg, Kans. Mrs. Moore and her husband were both members of the United Brethren church when young. After coming to Kansas they never united with any church. She was a loving mother, a devoted companion, and loved by all who knew her. She died at the home of her son A. W. Moore, April 11, 1917. Age 71 years, 10 months and 10 days. Funeral services were conducted from the home April 23rd at 2 p. m. by the M. E. Pastor Jas. W. Tweed, after which the body was laid to rest in the Silver Cliff cemetery.
