COOKEVILLE Funeral services for James Edward Ward, 65, of Algood will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Crest Lawn Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. on Friday, June 27, at the funeral home.

Mr. Ward was dead on arrival at Cookeville Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, June 25, 2003.

He was born on Jan. 14, 1938, in Algood to the late Pennock and Bessie Cobble Ward.

He was a retired assembler in an auto manufacturing factory. Mr. Ward was a Navy veteran. He attended Deliverance Revival Church and Algood Church of God.

His family includes his wife, Laura Caldwell Ward of Algood; a daughter, Crystal Gail Skeen; a son Stephen Ward of Cookeville; two stepsons, Danny Alan Hacker of Cookeville and David Gareth Hacker of Nashville; a brother, Frederick Ward of Stewart Draft, Va.; two grandchildren, Morissa and Nicholis Skeen; and two nephews, Ronnie and Tommy Ward.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Junior Ward.

Pastor Ottis Ramsey will officiate at the services.
