Thomas was one of 16 children, a son of William Marshall Seal Sr. and Sophia Stonebraker, daughter of Revolutionary War soldier John Dietrich Stonebraker.

He was husband of Elizabeth A. "Lydia" Cunningham and father of Lewis Oscar, Elpha "Effie" Julia who married Curtis Brown, Michael Addison, Mary Blanche who married Robert Clifford Deavours, Francis Homer, Joseph Adrian, and Hellena Pauline C. was only 3 when death came.

Thomas married Lydia 09 Feb 1876 in Washington, Daviess Co., Indiana and their daughter Elpha Julia was born here Feb 1877. They lived for a time in Flora, Clay Co., Illinois where their sons Louis Oscar was born in 1879 and Michael Addison in 1882. They returned to Daviess County by 1884 and it was here the rest of their children born.

All family agree that Thomas passed in Daviess Co. in 1895. He is certainly buried at St. Mary's Cemetery with his family and his headstone is marked 1852-1895. I can personally confirm this via a visit Jun 2011 and the photos taken there.
