Florence Bulza

Florence Bulza, born April 2, 1916 in Gary, IN to George and Catita Leucuta, passed away in Lake Havasu City, AZ on August 10, 2010 at the age of 94.

Florence attended and graduated from Froebel High School. At the age of 16, she married the love of her life, Floyd in 1934 and had a beautiful relationship for over 60 years. They had truly a marriage made in heaven. After Floyd's death, she moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ and resided there until the Lord called her home. Florence was a loving wife, devoted daughter, caring mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Those who knew her will truly miss her smile and sense of humor. She devoted her life to her husband and family.

She was a former member of the Romanian Baptist Church, Brunswick Baptist Church and Hillcrest Baptist Church. In her younger years, she was very active in church work. She and her husband entertained and sponsored numerous immigrants from Romania, welcoming them like family. No one ever left her home without being served 'dessert and coffee'. She was known for her cooking and baking, especially her pies. She also enjoyed reading that which became her greatest joy.

She is survived by her daughters: Kathryn (Bill) Deak and Diana (Terry) Small; son, Floyd (Barbara) Bulza Jr.; grandchildren: Lisa (Chris) Low, Sheri (Vince) Sandy, Darcie (Ted) Garza, Terri Bulza and Christie (Glen) McIntyre; and great grandchildren: Danielle Garza, Lauren Sandy, Garrett Sandy, Ryan Low and Alyssa Donley.

Preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Bulza; sisters: Tiana Sipa and Rosie Buibish; and brothers: Michael Leucuta, Theodore Leucuta, George Leucuta and Steve Leucuta.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM at The Funeral Chapel in Merrillville, IN with Pastor Phil Wood officiating. Inurnment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Saturday morning at 10:00 AM until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Florence's memory may be made to New Hope Hospice, 500 N. Lake Havasu Avenue, STE B-106, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.
