James Sapp was the son of Jacob Sapp and Rebecca Ann (Stoffer) Sapp. he married Polly Ann Yeakey on 25 March 1855 in Marshall County, Indiana. He grew up in Portage County, Ohio before moving to Wayne Township, Noble County, Indiana and then moved to Union Township, Marshall County, Indiana. He was a farmer and had 40 acres of farm land that he owned. He purchased the land in 1854 and sold it in 1857. His father Jacob Sapp also had land that he also owned in Marshall county, Indiana. His father died in Marshall County, Indiana in 17 March 1859. James in the 1860 census was living in Richland Township, Fulton County, Indiana. His mother lived next door with his other siblings. He moved to West Eau Claire Township, Eau Claire, Wisconsin on 1870 census and on the 1880 was in Seymour Township, Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He and Polly and were divorced. He had bought farm land in Eau Claire County, Wisconsin. He was a farmer. He was last time on census 1 June 1905 Ludington Township, Eau Calire, Wisconsin and was divorced. His siblings were George Walter, Clarissa, Susanna, John Henry, David, William, Elizabeth, Balser, Lucy died young and maybe other sister's were Rachel and Hannah.
