Allen Amason of Mize died Sunday, August 10, at the Green Forrest Nursing Home in Hattiesburg at the age of 92 following a lengthy illness.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 11, at the Mims Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel of Magee with interment in the Sharon Cemetery. Rev. Sandsbury officiated and Mims Mitchell Funeal Home of Magee was in charge of the arrangements.
Amason was a member of the Shady Grove Church of God. He was born in Smith County in March of 1877.
Survivors include one brother, Dallas Amason. Mize; one sister, Mrs. Bell Brown, Green Forrest Nursing Home; a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were J. D. Amason, H. D. Amason, Loyd Blackwell, Glenn Kennedy, Mitchell Amason and Jessie Amason.
