Nathan Cain died of apoplexy at his home on Dodge St. West Lafayette, at 1:25 p.m. Friday. He was born in Hamilton County, Indiana October 8, 1847, and at the age of 15 enlisted in the 101st Regiment and served three years in the Civil War. Mr. Cain was a carpenter by trade and a member of the G.A.R.
Surviving are the widow and following children: Vern and Roy Cain, West Lafayette; James Cain and Mrs. Lottie Erwin, Montmorenci; Mrs. Ethel Wolf, No. 10; Mrs. A.J. McCormick residing west of Purdue; 21 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Linneus, Benny and Henry Cain, reside at Mooresville, IN.
Funeral services will be held at 601 Dodge Street, West Lafayette at 2:00 Monday afternoon. Interment in Grandview Cemetery.
