Gloyde Richards Bennett Dangerfield, 87, was born in Garfield, Utah on April 11, 1923, the second of 12 children, to John Willis and Maggie Reid Richards. She will be forever cherished and her love will always remain with us. She loved learning and school, and graduated from Cyprus High in 1941.
Mom's family was always first on her list. She made each family member feel they were her favorite. Her 29 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren will always know she cared about them deeply. She loved hosting family Halloween and Christmas parties, and decorating a special showcase in her home for each season or special event.
She was a talented musician, learning to play the piano on a pine board her father precisely painted for her. She taught many piano lessons to neighbors and family. Many grandchildren had special time with Grandma learning to play the piano.
Mom was a great cook and loved trying out new recipes. She was a stickler on good manners. She was always kind and considerate of everyone, looking for the good in all, and truly setting the example of living by the creed, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."
She married Vard H. Bennett on April 5, 1941 and had two sons. After his death, she married Harold T. Dangerfield in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple on October 29, 1948. They had six more children.
Mom's life was filled with service. She loved serving in many callings in the church, including Ward and Stake Primary President, and positions in the Relief Society. She spent many years as ward organist and temple organist. She and Harold served a mission on Temple Square. She loved her association with many groups, including The Melodears, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and the Good Sam Club.
Mom brought her mother (Grandma Maggie) into her home and lovingly cared for her for many years. Mom lived at Legacy House of Taylorsville the last few years, where she made many friends and received tender care from many kind staff members, and Haven Home Healthcare nurses and aides.
She is survived by her eight children: Richard Bennett (Linda), of South Jordan, David Bennett (Debbie), of Phoenix, AZ, Kelly (Kathy), of Cedar City, Tom, Magna, Bonnie (Jay Wardle), all of Hunter, Ted (Becky), of Hunter, Russ (Debbie), of Hunter, and Shellie (Deril Dorius), of South Jordan; sister, Chloe Dangerfield; brothers, William Dale and Joseph A. Richards, all from Magna.
Mom is preceded in death by husbands, Vard H. Bennett and Harold T. Dangerfield; her parents, brothers, Jack, Robert, Reid, Gerald and Scott Richards; sisters, Margaret, Barbara Francisco and Kathryn Sorenson, and great granddaughter, Sabrina Bennett.
