Funeral services will be conducted this (Thursday) afternoon from the Evangelical United Brethren church for Mrs. Henry (Emma) Karow at two o'clock. Rev. E.H. Pfeifer will officiate. Burial will be in the Red Rock cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Block, Myron Mattison, Myrle Simon, Darrel Graff, Alan Graff, and Wilburt Karow. Emma Karow, 85, died Tuesday at the Tessien hospital. She had been in ill health several years. Emma, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Nickel, was born Dec. 5, 1875, in Germany. She came to this country when she was four years old. She was married to Henry Karow July 11, 1893, after which they lived in Sundown township. Later they moved to the Red Rock area and in 1929 they moved to Springfield. Mrs. Karow was preceded in death by her husband and two children, Fred and Elsie. The following children survive: Mrs. Herman (Alma) Block, Harry Karow and Ben Karow, Springfield and Mrs. Romay (Edna) Graff of Sanborn. Also surviving are a brother, Fred Nickel, at Jeffers; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Block, at Orange Calif. and 13 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
