MRS. WHEELER DIES AT AGE 89;
RITES THURSDAY

Mrs. Allie E. Wheeler, 89, 120 North Garrison, died at 6:15 p.m. today at McCune-Brooks hospital. She had been seriously ill six months. She had been hospitalized four times since March. Saturday she was admitted to McCune-Brooks.

Born Sept 22, 1879 in Cowley county, Kansas, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David H. Green. She moved as a child with her family to the Golden City area.

She was married March 29, 1900, at Carthage to Elmer A. Wheeler. They resided in the Golden City area and later moved in 1924 to Carthage.

Mr. Wheeler, a carpenter died June 27, 1935 as the result of an automobile accident.

Surviving are five daughters:
Mrs. Marie Hixson, 2218 Fairlawn
Mrs. Ples (Grace) Neeley, 115 North Garrison
Mrs. Mabel Stephenson, 2218 Fairlawn
Miss Pauline Wheeler of the home and
Mrs. Anita Todd, 130 North Garrison

a brother;
James D. Green, Pittsburg, Kansas

11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchilden

Mrs. Emily Tryon, Elmhurst, is a sister-in-law of Mrs. Wheeler.

Gravesite Details

Allie Wheeler is buried next to her husband Elmer Wheeler with daughter, Pauline, on the other side of her. Daughter Anita is buried on the other side of her father. The burial site is in the Garden of Prayer.
