Ernie Edward Mingee, 75, a retired Nickel Plate Railroad foreman, died at 4 p.m. yesterday (Mar 8, 1967) in the Paris Community Hospital. He was ill several weeks following a coronary heart attack. He moved to Metcalf 35 years ago from Humrick. Born Nov 5, 1891 in Kidley IL, he was the son of Alexander and Dora McNeese Mingee.
On Aug 22, 1911, he married the former Lacy May Thornton, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Leonard Mingee of Oklahoma City OK, 3 daughters, Mrs. LaFerne Otto of Decatur, Mrs. Stella Roach of Indianapolis and Mrs. Imogene Wienke of Metcalf; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Hamer of Hollywood Fla. and Mrs. Bessie Julian of Hume, and two brothers, Kenneth Mingee of San Francisco, California and Lester of Metcalf. There are 11 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. He belonged to Metcalf Christian Church and the Modern Woodmen of America.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Honnold Funeral Home in Chrisman with Rev Robert Wilson in charge. Burial will be in the cemetery north of Newman.
