Russell Earl DuBois was born 26 June 1900 to David Austin and Celia C Avery DuBois in Sharon Hallow, Michigan.

Russell married Mary Fay Gilbert 16 August 1926. Sadly, Mary DuBois died at Foote Hospital due to injuries related to a Napoleon, Michigan house fire in 1944.

Russell married Evelyn Naomi Gilbert Gilloz on 11 July 1946 at Vandercook Lake. Evelyn brought one son, Richard L. Gilloz, into the relationship and the couple had one son.

Russell died at Herrick Hospital in Tecumseh at the age of 75.
