Nelson S. Hitchcock
Nelson S. Hitchcock, 48, husband of the former Helen Rudd, died suddenly Sunday at his home, 2-30 Kenneth avenue, Fair Lawn.
Born in Vermont, Mr. Hitchcock was a Civil Service employe of the United States government under the Army for the past 25 years. He was a veteran of World War I.
He had lived in Fair Lawn for the past 13 years, coming there from San Diego, Calif.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at the home, with the Rev. W.L. Griffin of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, officiating.
Cremation will follow at New York-New Jersey Crematory, Union City. Robert C. Moore and Sons are in charge of funeral arrangements.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Hitchcock is survived by three children, Jane and Roger Hitchcock; of Fair Lawn, and Private First Class Edward Hitchcock, with the Army at Dayton, O.; a brother, Capt. George C. Hitchcock of the Navy, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Putnam Woods of Mariposa, Calif.
