IRENE HITCHCOCK DEAD
Young Woman Had Been Ill From Tuberculosis for Long Time
Miss Irene Hitchcock died at her home in South Shaftsbury Monday night, aged 17 years. She had been ill for some time with tuberculosis and her death was not unlooked for. She was the oldest child of Rev. Merrill who died from the same disease about a month ago. She was a member of the senior class of the Bennington high school and would have graduated in June if her health had remained good. She was a great favorite with the members of her class, the teachers in the school and all with whom she was brought in contact.
Her early death will be mourned by a large circle. None knew her but to love her. She is survived by a mother and four other children. Her funeral will be held Friday at 1 o'clock and the body will be taken to Pittsford for burial.
