He was born in Mt. Victory on May 31, 1928, a son of the late Truman and Eva Cahill Dille.
On Jan. 19, 1969, he married Charlotte Louise Daum at the First Christian Church in Bellefontaine and she survives, along with a daughter, Andrea J. Dille of Houston, Texas; a sister, Carol (William A.) Troth of Bellefontaine; nephews, Michael (Susan) Troth of Bellefontaine and James (Laura) Troth of Mechanicsburg; and niece, Bethany (Kevin) Dwinnell of Dublin.
Mr. Dille was a 1946 graduate of Bellefontaine High School and owner of Dille Building Supply Inc. until his retirement in 1989.
He was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Bellefontaine, where he was active in the Fidelis Class and numerous Bible study programs, and served as a church deacon and a Stephen minister. Additionally, he was a member of Kiwanis and Mended Hearts. Mr. Dille was an avid gardener and his roses and day lilies were much admired.
Pastor F. Michael Valentine officiates a funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at the Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the funeral. Burial is in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
