The eighth of nine American-born children, of Serbian and Hungarian immigrant parents . . .

Uncle Alec attained rank of "full bird" Colonel during his career in the Marines (flew helicopters in Viet Nam) and was a professor at the US Marine Corps University.

There were no subways west of Chicago nor south of Washing, D.C.

After retirement, Alec joined the US Dept of Transportation - Urban Mass Transit Admin to oversee the planning of The Metro (DC), MARTA (Atlanta), BART (San Francisco).


NOTE: His Widow - Pinky - will be intured beside him on 1 December 2010.
