Funeral services for Miss Myra Beggs, 83, of 825 1/2 S. Douglas Ave., who died at 4:30 a.m. yesterday at her residence, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow, at Thomas C. Smith's Sons funeral home. Dr. Harry M. McPherson will officiate and burial will be in Centenary cemetery near Ashland. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today today and until time of services tomorrow.
Miss Beggs was born July 7, 1867, in the Centenary neighborhood near Ashland, the daughter of John and Sarah Sinclair Beggs. She attended the old Female academy in Jacksonville and DePauw university in Greencastle, Ind. In 1930 Miss Beggs moved to Springfield where she was a member of the First Methodist church.
She is survived by one brother, Rev. S. W. Beggs, of Waupaca, Wis., and one sister-in-law, Mrs. C. S. Beggs, of Springfield, with whom she made her home, and several nieces and nephews.
