George Fletcher was born on his father's farm about four miles from Pottsville, Texas a small village in Hamilton County, Texas. The family sold this farm and purchased a larger ranch/farm in Mills County, Texas, seven miles north of Mullin. The farm consisted of several pieces of Railroad land that had come available for purchase. In December, 1904 George married Ella Rose Baskin in Mullin. Ella taught school in Mullin. The couple lived on the Fletcher Ranch until their children were of school age and then moved into Mullin itself, in two different houses. They lived in Mullin until George died.
