A Celebration of Life Service for L. D. "Pud" Fletcher will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 16 at Shepherd King Lutheran Church, 2122 18th Street, with Pastor Gerald Kaskela officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006 at Resthaven Funeral Home.

L.D. passed away Monday,Nov. 12, 2006.

He was born March 13, 1919 in Mullin, Texas to the late George and Ella (Baskin) Fletcher. He was a true cowboy growing up on a ranch roping cattle and breaking horses. L.D. served in the United States Air Force during WWII, as an aircraft commander of B-24 in China. While staying in Denver, he met a Swedish blonde, Ann Morck. They later married on Nov. 23, 1946 in Dublin, Texas, and moved to Lubbock in 1948. He graduated from Draughonís Business College and was a top salesman for State Chemical Company for many years. He then retired from R & R Laundry Supply. He was a 32nd degree Mason. His favorite hobby was golf and playing Skip-Bo.

Those left to cherish his memory are the love of his life, Ann; two daughters, Carol Ann White and husband, Johnny D of San Angelo, Lisa Diane Jeffrey and husband, Wayne of The Colony; sister, Anita Felts of San Saba; four grandchildren, Michelle John of Anchorage, Alaska, Stacy Lynn Williams of Nashville, Tenn., Jennifer Lee Vanlandingham of Richardson, Eric Wayne Vanlandingham of Plano; three step-grandchildren, Michael Jeffrey Pierce of The Colony, Jennifer Leigh Jeffrey of Frisco and Ashley Marie Jeffrey of The Colony; and many nieces and nephews.
