Helen Gwynne, daughter of Richard and Annie Callihan, was born at Luray, Missouri, March 16, 1896, at which place the few short years of her life were spent. She united with the M. P. Church, January 25, 1908, under the pastorate of Rev. Edgar Houchens and she remained an earnest and consistent member up to the time of her death, which occurred June 4, 1914, at the age of 18 years and 2 months.

While her earthly life was brief, it was not lived in vain, as was testified by the friends which she numbered by the score, while her patience and cheerfulness during her illness will serve to enshrine her more closely to their hearts.

The funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Protestant Church in Luray, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E. A. Sexsmith, of Kahoka, assisted by Rev. Scott Miller, of near Luray. The services were largely attended by relatives and friends from Kahoka and Luray and vicinity, thus attesting the high esteem in which she was held. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. The body was tenderly laid to rest in the Combs Cemetery.

The active pallbearers were Arthur and Chester McCabe, Frank Webb, Milo Chasteen, M. Walker, Ernest Forbes. The honorary pallbearers were Misses Belle Murphy, Rella Walker, May Bellowes, Coquelah Coffrin, Carrie Stevens, and Stella Weaver.

The choir was Mrs. A. G. Seyb, organist, S. S. Hiller, Dr. A. C. Bridges, Mrs. W. P. Seyb, and Mrs. Frank Turner, of Kahoka.

Miss Callihan is survived by her father, Dr. R. G. Callihan, step-mother, two brothers of Luray and grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Jane Goodwin of Kahoka.
