Struck by Train.
Edward Milliken, a carpenter, of near New Florence, aged 59 years, was at Johnstown Saturday on business returning to New Florence on the evening train. He told his little grandson who was at the station with a buggy, to wait until he went to the post office for the mail. On his way back from the post office as he was crossing the track a work-train struck him hurling him to one side and so injuring him he died Sunday morning. He leaves a wife, one son, Elmer, of Cannonsburg; Mrs. Chas. Nippes, of Huff, this county; Mrs. A. L. Hysong, of Conemaugh; Miss Maud Milliken, private secretary to the Bell Telephone company at Johnstown, and Grace at home. He was a brother-in-law of Messrs. W. H. and J. M. Gamble, of this place. Funeral services were held yesterday and the body brought to Bethel church, near Jacksonville for interment.

Blairsville Cemetery [death certificate states Bethel Cemetery]
Local rumor states that two men of less than reputable character were
paid to exhume the body of Edward Milliken from his grave at Bethel UP
Cemetery and re-inter in a family plot at Blairsville. Possibly under
the influence of alcohol, the men decided it would be much easier to
move the grave marker and collect the money [having only completed
half the task]. Due to community rumors, no one was ever interred on
the Milliken plot at Bethel UP Cemetery.
