Beryl B. Bard was the first child of Senator Thomas R. Bard and his wife Mary. The family estate in Port Hueneme was named "Berylwood", the third and most lavish iteration being built in 1912. Her father died in 1915. Beryl continued to live with her mother in the mansion for many years until she moved to Ojai in 1934. Her mother Mary died in 1937. Never married, Beryl B. Bard, died at her home in Ojai, California after what was described as a lingering illness in 1957.
