Birth: 6th of ten known children in Tipton township, Hardin county, Iowa.

Born, raised, educated, married and with at least two children born in Iowa, removing to Shawnee, Pottawatomie county, Oklahoma territory with third child born twelve days following statehood and where their three known children attended Shawnee, Oklahoma schools and Oklahoma University. First born, Elbert Elwynn, graduated both, trained serving as an officer in the army during WW I, a geologist who made a fortune in oil during his seventy-one years, ending as president of Caracas Oil company in Venezuela S A at his 1976 demise.

Christian was active in the Socialist Party, one of its national delegate's from Oklahoma for the 1908 Chicago convention, ran for Oklahoma state treasurer in 1910. While living in Shawnee, Pottawatomie county he was president, with secretary William Jarvis of Earlsboro, Pottawatomie county, Oklahoma, for Helker & Jarvis Seminole company, of Wewoka, Seminole county, Oklahoma, where his last child's Missouri Death Certificate gave as her November 1907 birth location, and had in October, bought land. Was president for Kansouri Mining company of Miami, Ottawa county, Oklahoma which filed its papers with state July 1916, operating till 1919 when the government stopped supporting the metal industry. He resided in Joplin, Jasper county, Missouri from around 1939 where they celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary, and daughter H Elaine resided from time to time.

Census: 1870, age 4 Tipton township, Hardin county, Iowa with parents and five siblings, parents came to Iowa in 1855 and had settled here in 1857, upon whose property the Boylan cemetery was established as one of the first in the township.

Census: 1880, age 13 Tipton township, Hardin county, Iowa with parents & eight siblings, father a blacksmith and pioneered area since 1857.

By 1910, however, it was increasingly clear that while Shawnee would continue to prosper, the city could no longer vie with Oklahoma City for predominance in the region. Shawnee was unsuccessful in attracting the Armour meatpacking company and the Frisco Railroad, and the city came in a distant third in the statewide election to determine the permanent site of the state capital. The city, however, was successful in securing both the Baptist university and a Catholic college, St.Gregory's .
