Born Feb. 17, 1884, in Ipava, Ill. she was the daughter of Francis and Ida David. She had been a resident of Wapello County since 1913 and of Ottumwa since 1946. Her marriage to Ed Shuert took place in 1904 in Peoria, Ill.
Mrs. Shuert was a member of P.E.O. Chapter CG and the Order of Eastern Star in Eldon. She belonged to the Plymouth Congregational Church in Ottumwa.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Laila Reighard of Agency, Mrs. Clara Hanna of Pulaski, Mrs. Mary Albert of Ottumwa and Mrs. Betty Johnson of Des Moines; a son, Kenneth L. of Batavia; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Roy Howater of Osawatomie, Kan. One son who died in infancy.
The service will be Sunday at 2 P.M. at the Jay Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Erwin, Pastor of the Plymouth Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will be in McCormick Cemetery near Highland Center.
