Earl J. Foster, 70, of Brimfield died Friday, Aug. 7, 1992, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born Aug. 31, 1921, in Ray to John Earl and Helen Prather Foster, he married Ellen Coleman on April 16, 1945, in Atlantic City, N.J. She survives, along with two daughters, Patricia Nelson of Farmington and Jo Ann Russeau of Glen Ellyn; three sisters, Mrs. Lyle (Vera) Brock of Augusta, Mrs. Clyde (Marie) Ogden of Lewistown and Betty Fawcett of Table Grove. One son, Robert E., and one sister preceded him in death.

A World War II Navy veteran, he taught math and coached sports in Little York and at Brimfield High School for 23 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Illinois Education Association. He served on the Brimfield Library Board, Brimfield Township Board and Village of Brimfield Sanitary Board.

He was a member of Brimfield American Legion and was a Mason.

Burial will be in Brimfield Cemetery.
