Mr. Victor P. Christensen, died 08-09-2010, at his home south of Booneville, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Victor and Sarah Jane (Butler) Christensen.

Mr. Christensen spent his early years ranching in Arizona. He spent his later years on a ranch in Arkansas. He was a veteran of World War II and served honorably in both the Coast Guard and in the Navy. He served on the USS Pettit. He also worked for the U.S. Forest Service. He worked at Phillips Dodge Copper Mine in Morenci, Ariz., and in his spare time made knives and spurs. Victor enjoyed ranching and roping; raising cows was his passion. He was a member of the Arkansas Cattlemen's Association. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as first counselor and bishop in the Bishopric in Chino Valley, Ariz. He served as branch president and counselor in Branch Presidency several different times; he also served for two years as a live-at-home missionary with his wife. Victor was a great example to his family and will be missed.

Mr. Christen is survived by his children: Vera (Alan) Spencer, Raymon (Shelley) Christensen, Aleatha Beddow, Kennard (Vonda) Christensen, Nolin Christensen, Derrick (Kim) Christensen; 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; his siblingsL Beth (Paul) Ellsworth, Geraldine Harrison, Betty Jo (Neldon) Cook, Lot (Colleen) Christensen, Rose Shumway, Carol (Owen) Shupe, Gary Christensen, Jane Theobald, Joy Jones and James (Susan) Christensen; and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Gene (Walker)Christensen; a son: Wesley Christensen; a granddaughter: Emily Christensen; and two sisters, Colleen Christensen and Corine Christensen.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, 08-14-2010, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Greenwood, Arkansas. He was laid to rest at Wiley Cemetery on the Christensen farm under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
Pallbearers were: Abram Christensen, Jacob Christensen, Zachary Christensen, Bryant Christensen, Phillip Christensen, Jeremy Christensen, Travis Christensen, Deron Spencer, Sean Spencer, David Beddow, Daniel Beddow, Dale Beddow and Jesse Christensen.
Honorary pallbearers wereL Jonathan Christensen and Sam Christensen.
