~OBITUARY OF JAY THOMAS

Friends of Jay THOMAS gathered Friday afternoon in the Christian Church for simple, impressive Funeral Services held at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. Leon Berry, pastor.

Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Jas. E. Barbour, Mrs. Howard Holt, Mrs. W. E. Foglesong and Troy Bolerjack with Mrs. A. K. Wilson at the piano. Pall bearers were Glen RAGAN, Bill CAYLER, Frank TEAGUE, Merl JACKSON, Jack TODD and Earl GLASGOW.

Jay was born to Russ and Sarah THOMAS at Carney, Oklahoma, on September 23, 1907, and passed away in Perryton Wednesday, December 03 at the age of 33 years, 2 months and 10 days. Jay, apparently in good health, was found dead in bed early Wednesday morning.

When a small child, the family moved to Lambert, Oklahoma, where the father operated a hardware and implement business until they came to Ochiltree County when the town of Perryton was built in 1919. The mother died when Jay was four years of age and a brother, Guy, was killed in an airplane accident at the Perryton opening.

After finishing high school in Perryton, Jay attended Oklahoma City University one year and later graduated from a Diesel school in Los Angeles. For a number of years he has been associated with his father and twin brother, Ray, in farming at the family home east of town. About four months ago, he purchased a recreation club in Perryton which he has since operated as Jay's Recreation Club.

Survivors beside the father and twin brother are a sister, Mrs. Fairie RITCHE of Los Angeles, California, and a brother, M. G. THOMAS of Oklahoma City, several nephews and nieces and a host of friends.

Burial was made in the Ochiltree Cemetery by the side of a step-mother who died in 1931.
