James W. Woods was born near Waukausha, Fond Du Lac County, Wisconsin, December 31, 1850 and died January 30, 1917, age 66 years and 30 days.
In 1875 he was married to Mary Anne Bousfield. To this union were born five children, two dying in infancy and three living; Maud, Percy James, and Ernest Mervin.
His wife died in 1883, and in 1885 he married Maggie A. Bousfield, her sister. To them was born one girl, Lucy, still living. Maggie died in 1886.
Then, October 2, 1886, he married Sarah Jane Bordon Douglas. To them were born 2 sons and 3 daughters, still living.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife, four sons and five daughters, six grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren, three brothers, three sisters, and three step-sons.
He came to Nebraska in 1877 and lived there twenty-seven years. In 1905 he moved to Belleville, KS. In 1908 he moved to Douglass, Kansas, residing near here until his death.
