Funeral services for Ernest Woods, 96, of 220 Park Ave., were held on Feb. 2 a the Boldt Funeral Home with the Rev. George A. Peltz and the Rev. Glenn E. Saunders officiating. interment was made in the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault. Pallbearers were Gordon Finley, Theodore Finley, Daniel Shaske, Frank Shaske Jr., Kenneth Shaske and Lowell Shaske. Mrs. Theodore Finley, organist, accompanied Lowell Paul as he sang "Rock of Ages" and "The Old Rugged Cross."
Ernest W. Woods was born on Feb. 12, 1873, to Samuel and Phebe West Woods in Oakfield, Wis. He spent his boyhood in Wisconsin moving to Iowa with his parents and brothers at the age of 21. He farmed in Osage, Iowa, for six years and following his marriage to Laura Lombard on Nov. 27, 1902, they moved to Augusta, Kan., for two years returning to Iowa in 1910. In 1916 he purchased a farm east of Faribault, where he and his family resided until moving to Faribault in 1932. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Mr. Woods, who passed away at his home on Jan. 29, is survived by six daughters, Miss Therle Woods, Faribault; Miss Irene Woods of West Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Frank Shaske (rest of the obit is missing)
