David was my husband's Uncle.

He was the sixth of eight children born to Peter Francis KONOPACKY and Margaret Maria (Karner) Konopacky.

He was married to Delphine "Delly" Ann SKALSKI. Their children together were:

Jeffrey Daniel (1954)
Kris Peter (1955)
Susan Ann (1957)
Karen Marie (1961)

Obituary

David F. Konopacky, age 57, passed Friday afternoon in Clark County as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Burial in the parish cemetery.

Born June 28, 1930, in Stevens Point, a son of Peter and Margaret (Karner) Konopacky. He graduated from St. Joseph Parochial School and P.J. Jacobs High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Dave entered the U.S. Navy on Feb. 28, 1951, in Chicago. His rank was YN1 serving aboard the USS Picking. His commendations were the Navy Occupation Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Korean Service Medal with one star. He was discharged Feb. 25, 1955.

He returned to Stevens Point and was employed for 31 years at Consolidated Papers main office in Wisconsin Rapids as a purchasing agent.

Dave was married to the former Delphine Skalski on June 7, 1952, at St. Peter Catholic Church. He was a member of the St. Joseph Holy Name Society.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jeffrey (Kathleen), Stevens Point, and Kris (Nancy), Plover; two daughters, Susan (Ralph) Koelemay, Stevens Point, and Karen Laidlaw, Madison; five grandchildren; a sister, Audrey (Eugene) Skibba, Stevens Point; and five brothers, Jerome (Gen), Stevens Point, Robert (Betty), Stevens Point, James (Joyce), Stevens Point, John (Barbara), Green Bay, and Peter, San Diego, CA.

Preceded in death by parents and a brother.

Cause of death - RV accident on return trip from hunting.
