Simeon Whatley MEADOWS, 1807-1864, married first, August 30, 1827, Taliaferro County, Georgia, Susanna CHAPMAN, born March 18, 1809, Greene County, Georgia, died November 2, 1855, aged 46, Heard County, Georgia.

Susanna CHAPMAN, 1809-1855, was the daughter of Nathan CHAPMAN, 1777-1868, late of Taliaferro County, Georgia and Elizabeth HART, 1780-1863, late of Taliaferro County, Georgia. Nathan CHAPMAN married Elizabeth HART, February 20, 1800.

In 1827, Simeon and Susannah MEADOWS migrated from Taliaferro County, Georgia to Troup County, Georgia, where they were living in 1830, and in 1840. In 1840, Simeon Whatley MEADOWS lived next door to his brother, Vincent T. MEADOWS, in Troup County, Georgia.

Simeon Meadows was a Justice of the Peace in the 700th District in Troup County. Simeon Meadows, J.P. performed marriages in Troup County, from 1832 to 1836.

In 1837, Simeon Whatley MEADOWS owned land in Coweta County, Georgia.

In 1843, Simeon Whatley MEADOWS sold land he owned in Troup County, Georgia; he sold land he owned in Coweta County, Georgia, in 1860.

In the early part of 1843, Simeon Whatley MEADOWS moved to Heard County, Georgia, some five miles from Franklin, near Cooksville, after living for sixteen years in Troup County, Georgia.

In the fall of 1843, he bought at administrator's sale, a large and fairly good place in Heard County, known as the old Wood place. It contained about 800 acres and the residence, built in the 1830's, was on an eminence between two small creeks that ran through the place. It was more than a mile from any public road and three miles from any church or school and the bold rock spring was a quarter of a mile from the house. About 120 yards from the old Wood house there was a graveyard where the old Wood parents and several others of the Wood family were buried, near Bethel Church near Cooksville, Georgia. He later sold 300 acres of the original 800 acres land. He retained the plantation as long as he lived. It was sold at executor's sale and purchased by the husband of a granddaughter of the old Wood patriarch.

In 1846, Simeon bought 100 acres of land one and a half miles away on the public road leading from Newnan to Franklin, Georgia.

In 1850, Simeon lived in Heard County, Georgia. He was Justice of the Peace in Heard County, Georgia, in 1858.

Simeon and Susannah MEADOWS were members of the Enon Baptist Church in Heard County.

In 1855, Simeon's parents, Daniel MEADOWS, 1779-1875, and Annis 'Anna' THOMPSON, 1782-1873, came to live with him from Coweta County, Georgia, after the death of his first wife.

In 1859, Simeon Whatley MEADOWS, 1807-1864, married second, August 28, 1859, Heard County, Georgia, Mrs. Sarah BROWN NEWMAN, 1823-1864, widow of Richard NEWMAN.

In 1860, Simeon lived in Enon Grove, Heard County, Georgia. Enon Grove was in Georgia Militia District 779 and had originally been Red Bone District. It is bounded on the west and north by the Chattahoochee River and on the east by the Coweta County line. The Franklin–Newnan Road (State Route 34) passes near the southern boundary.

Simeon Whatley MEADOWS, 1807-1864, and Susanna CHAPMAN MEADOWS, 1809-1855, are buried on what was known as the old Wood place, between Newnan and Franklin in Heard County, Georgia.

v. Simeon Joseph MEADOWS, born 8 February 1840, Troup County, Georgia, died 3 January 1920, Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana, married Temperence Penina DANIEL;
