PANEK, Ruth Jean, age 86, of Mt. Morris, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 5, 2008. Funeral Services will be 2PM Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor Jeff Rolfe officiating. Interment will follow in Bendle Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 5-8PM and Saturday 12PM until time of service at the funeral home. Ruth was born March 3, 1922 in Corunna the daughter of George and Florence (Bouck) Augsbury. She married Stanley Panek in Flint in 1945 and was an active member of Bethel Park Free Methodist Church for many years. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and she will be missed by family and friends alike. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Stanley; 2 sons, Dr. David Panek of Mt. Morris, Timothy Panek (Linda) of Costa Rica; 5 grandchildren, Michael, Heather, Joshua, Johanna and Miriam; brother, James Augsbury (Janice) of Flint Twp; sister, Glenna Maxwell of Flint Twp. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Allison Panek; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Panek and brother-in-law, Arthur Maxwell. The family extends special thanks to Ann Arnett for her loving, compassionate care as well as Dr. Frederick VanDuyne and the staff of Avalon Hospice for the professional,tender care they also provided.
