Cora married James Willis on August 11, 1891 and they had a son named Nathan. James died shortly after Nathan was born.
She was just 23 when she married James Power on November 24, 1895, he was 17 years her senior and already had six children from his first wife. Together James and Cora had four daughters; Lulu, Lois, Bessie and Thelma.
After James death she married James W. Mellen. However she is buried beside James, her husband of 32 years.
Her son Nathan Willis enlisted in he Army during WWI and became paralyzed from wounds he received in the war.

MELLEN - In this city December 28th, 1949, Cora Bell Mellen, dearly beloved wife of James Mellen. loving mother of Mrs. Lois Blair of this city, Mrs. Lulu hardy of Garden Grove, Calif., Mrs. Betty Minore of Los Angeles. Mrs. Thelma Holliday of Alameda, stepmother of Mason Power of Inglewood and Mrs. Olive Dearsmith of Kansas; a native of Missouri. Friends are invited to attend the funeral Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the George L. Klumpp Chapel of Flowers, 808 O Street. Interment Odd Fellows Lawn.

They lived at 2210 E 13th St, Wichita Ks. Sometimes her sister, Viola Susan and her husband Samuel L Vance would live there too, but James drinking with Grandpa Vance and 'Mace' caused Viola to leave on several occasions.
Cora`s husband, James Power's brother, Mason Franklin M.F. aka Mace married Viola Susan Mills Vance about 1914, after Samuel`s death. He later left the family and stole 2 horses from Grandma.
